Those sweet newborns make for the absolute most adorable photos ever! You've all seen them, so peaceful, relaxed and content. However, anyone that has ever had a newborn knows that this is not always an easy look to capture of on camera. Out of any photo shoot I have ever done the most planning goes into the newborn shoots. The environment has to be ideal and the baby must have all of his/her needs met to be able to perform the way you want.
I submitted this article to Digg (http://www.mcpactions.com/blog/2012/05/14/newborn-photography-tips/) as it does an excellent job of detailing all of the very important steps to take when preparing and photographing a newborn. It covers and explains the importance of these 10 important pointers: 1. Keeping the baby warm. 2. Making the environment noisy. 3. A full belly. 4. Keeping them awake prior to the shoot. 5. Significance of the time of day when shooting. 6. Staying calm and relaxed. 7. Getting them in while they are young. 8. Taking your time. 9. Being safe. 10. Enjoying the experience.
One thing to keep in mind is that regardless of if you follow all of the important steps outlined in this article, these are babies and sometimes like everything involving little ones need to be prepared to possibly reschedule. There are some days that you can follow all of the steps and baby just isn't in the mood.
Hope these tips help save you some time and stress!
